The United States Amateur Pickleball Association ("USAPA") is a pickleball society that exists in the form of a national organization. It offers Pickleball National Championships as well as club membership programs. In addition, the organization has a rules committee, which publishes the official rulebook for pickleball.

The first USAPA National Tournament was held in November 2009. It attracted more than 400 players representing 26 states. It received a lot of media attention. For example, Good Morning America featured a live segment on pickleball.

USAPA also published the first official pickleball construction book. Among other things, the book includes technical information on how to build a pickleball court. This was a result of a partnership between the USAPA and the American Sports Builders Association.

The popularity of pickleball was quickly expanding. The SFIA Sports and Fitness Industry Association reported that there were over two million pickleball players worldwide. Many people began playing pickleball in their own communities, especially retirement houses. Active play is another reason the game is so popular.

During the early days, the sport was limited to Buckeye, AZ. However, the group grew in membership and eventually spawned many venues throughout the country. Today there are more than 420 locations in the US and Canada. These venues include outdoor courts and indoor sports halls.

The USAPA changed the name of the game in 2014. It adopted the colors red, blue, and white. It also changed its logo. The result is a more modern and compatible design that can be used with other national sports governing body logos.

The company also signed agreements to national television channels. Its website lists over 420 locations in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. The site has over 17,000 members. The popularity of the game has increased by more than 1,000% in the past year.

Justin Maloof, the organization's Executive Director, was hired in January 2013. He also restructured the company's internal affairs, staff and personnel. He was joined by nearly 20 employees. The organization's regional programs were also increased from 8 to 11.

The Hall of Fame was established by the organization's efforts in expanding the number of its national tournaments. Enrique Ruiz was among its pickleball players, while Jennifer Lucore was inducted into their Hall of Fame. Inductions into The Hall of Fame were also given out to those who contributed to the sport.

A new website was launched to reflect the rising popularity of the sport. It had a section dedicated to the history of pickleball. It also included a section on pickleball news, media and information. Further information was provided by the publisher Human Kinetics.
